Irish Woodlands storming ahead in the Republic of Ireland

Scottish Woodlands Ireland Ltd has rebranded the business in the Republic of Ireland as Irish Woodlands to reflect the business’s ongoing commitment to its Irish client base and markets.
The company, a subsidiary of Scottish Woodlands Ltd, has had a presence in the Republic of Ireland for more than 35 years, serving clients requiring support with woodland creation, timber harvesting and marketing, and forest management.
Since Storm Éowyn blew down over 12 Million cubic metres of timber in January 2025, the company has been involved in efforts to harvest and market a significant share in the north west of the island. Much of the timber has been exported to markets including the European continent, in addition to supplying the domestic markets.

The new trading name - which will include the re-branding of signage, clothing and equipment - took place from 1st July.
Brian Malcolmson, Senior Forest Manager for Irish Woodlands, said: "There is a real opportunity to grow the business in the Republic of Ireland, and rebranding demonstrates our commitment to the Irish forest industry and wider economy."
Maria O'Rawe will join Irish Woodlands as a Trainee Graduate on August 1st to bolster the team.

Ian Robinson, Managing Director of Scottish Woodlands Ltd, said: "The reason behind the name change is quite simple; to show without any doubt that we are a company based in Ireland, with Irish staff, ready to provide forestry and timber services across the Republic of Ireland."
"We already operate as Flintshire Woodlands in Wales and parts of western England, so this is further confirmation of our commitment to serving local and regional markets in the way that suits our clients, and those we hope to work with in future."
Mr Malcolmson said Irish Woodlands was continuing to export windblown timber from the Republic of Ireland to markets in Europe and further afield. He added: "We'd love to hear from anyone who needs support removing and marketing windblown timber - or requires any other forestry and timber services."
