Scottish Woodlands proud to sponsor Galloway World Congress 2027

Scottish Woodlands is delighted to announce its gold sponsorship of the Galloway World Congress, taking place across Northern Ireland, South West Scotland and northern England from 2–11 August 2027.

The Congress is one of the most significant gatherings in the upland farming calendar, bringing together Galloway, Belted Galloway, White Galloways and Riggits cattle breeders from across the UK and the World over ten days of farm visits, herd inspections and community events. The 2027 meeting will take in some of the most productive upland landscapes in Britain, including herds in Cumbria and Northumberland, as well as the heartland of Galloway country in South West Scotland.

Scottish Woodlands has long recognised that sustainable land management in the uplands requires collaboration between forestry and farming. Events like the Galloway World Congress offer a valuable opportunity to engage with the farming communities whose land stewardship shapes our landscapes — and to explore how productive forestry and beef production can work side by side to deliver long-term returns for landowners.

With new woodland creation grant schemes continuing to develop and growing interest in diversifying land use across upland areas, there has never been a better time to start that conversation. We look forward to meeting breeders, landowners and land managers at the Congress and to playing our part in what promises to be a memorable celebration of one of Britain's finest native breeds.
