Quest for the Holy Fish & Chips
After the North England Scottish Woodlands' team marathon (26.2 miles) circumnavigation of Kielder Water in 2025, they have decided on a slightly shorter 21 mile route for their charity walk this year.
A team of 9 (Gareth Owen, Amy Herbst, Billie-Jo Walton, Jonathan Harker, Angus Rushin, Antoni Dunn, Lucy Philips, Sarah Radcliffe and Verity Williams) will start off in Alnmouth on 3rd September 2026 and walk up the Northumberland coast along the King Charles III England Coast Path.
On the way they’ll enjoy the views of the Torrs at Boulmer, the Black Hole at Craster, Dunstanburgh Castle, sandy beaches at Embleton, Beadnell Bay and views over the iconic Farne Islands including the Holy Island of Lindisfarne.
Arguably the toughest part of the walk will be at the 17 mile mark when they have to walk PAST the famous fish and chip shops in Seahouses before their final assault on Bamburgh itself. As a just reward they then intend to nip back to Seahouses for a well-earned fish supper! A Holy Grail indeed!
