Invitations are out for the Galloway World Congress 2027
The countdown to the Galloway World Congress 2027 - sponsored by Scottish Woodlands Ltd - is now officially on. Invitations and the full event itinerary have gone out to World Galloway members this week, marking the start of preparations for a landmark ten-day gathering of the world Galloway cattle breeders hosted across Ireland, South West Scotland and northern England from 2–11 August 2027.
Alongside hosting the international Galloway community, 2027 will also mark the 150th Anniversary of the Galloway Cattle Society. Founded in 1877, this important anniversary provides an opportunity to celebrate the Society’s history and recognise the generations of breeders and members who have worked to promote, protect and develop the Galloway breed over the past century and a half.
Together, these two celebrations – the World Galloway Congress and the Galloway Cattle Society’s 150th Anniversary – promise to make 2027 a particularly memorable year for the Galloway community.
The Congress programme will showcase the rich heritage of both the Galloway, Belted Galloway, White Galloway and Riggit breeds, while also highlighting their continuing importance within modern, sustainable livestock farming. Delegates will have the opportunity to visit herds and agricultural businesses, experience the countryside and farming traditions of Ireland, Scotland and England, and, importantly, enjoy time together with fellow breeders from around the world.
