New video explains why SWL is Helping it Happen
Scottish Woodlands has reinforced its commitment to supporting young talent in the rural industries with the release of a new video.
The short film - watch it here - explains why the company is sponsoring the Rural Rising Star category at Scottish Land & Estates 2026 Helping it Happen Awards.
In the video, Scottish Woodlands Managing Director Ian Robinson says: “Scottish Woodlands is totally committed to developing rising talent in our industry and in all rural industries in Scotland.”
“That’s why we launched our Graduate Development Programme and it’s why we support the Rural Rising Star category in the Helping it Happen Awards.”
The awards - in their landmark 10th year - showcase the fantastic work going on across rural Scotland.
The video explains: “As a company with 300 people and 13 Scottish offices - from the North East to the South West - Scottish Woodlands sees that brilliant work every day.”
Scottish Woodlands has sponsored a Helping it Happen award - and the Forestry Arena at the Royal Highland Show - for several years. This is to spotlight its role at the very heart of Scottish rural life - and the video explains that in addition to its core forestry operations, the company works in partnership with a variety of rural industries.
This includes clearing forests to allow renewable energy developments, removing trees expertly and safely from near railway tracks or power lines, restoring degraded peatlands - and helping farmers and landowners create woodlands to diversify their business.
Mr Robinson concludes the film by saying: “All across Scotland, Scottish Woodlands is helping it happen. That’s why we’re delighted to support these awards - and to celebrate rural excellence in all of its forms.”

The Helping it Happen Awards 2026 will be presented at the EICC in Edinburgh on 1st October.
