Vote Dessy!

Dessy Henry is standing for election to the Council of the Institute of Chartered Foresters - because he wants to use his extensive experience and commitment to the highest professional standards, to help the industry flourish.

As Scottish Woodlands' Forestry Director, Dessy is responsible for a large team of Forest Managers and as Regional Director for South West Scotland, including Ireland, he is responsible for the special projects division, plant procurement, training, as well as environment, planning and certification.

Dessy became a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Foresters (FICFor) in 2025, and wants to take the next step onto Council.

Voting starts on 27th April and Dessy is looking for your support. He says: "As a company, Scottish Woodlands carries out every operation to the highest standards of safety and professionalism. The ICF really matters in setting and upholding those professional high standards."

"Now, it's time for me to step up and take my turn to support the ICF's vital work, to help it flourish - and to serve this brilliant industry."

"I’m very approachable, and I will listen to members bringing the issues and ideas that matter to them to the ICF Council."

Look out for more posts ahead of voting - and if you would like to talk to Dessy about his plans, email dessy.henry@scottishwoodlands.co.uk to arrange a chat.
