Atlantic to North Sea – Marie Curie Charity Kayak challenge

Atlantic to North Sea – Marie Curie Charity Kayak challenge

Friday, 8th – Sunday, 10th May 2026

David Robertson, Director of Investment and Business Development, Jamie Reith, Business Development Manager and Andy Maclachlan, General Manager - Business Development, are taking on the ‘Great Glen Canoe Trail’ to raise funds for the Scottish Woodland’s Charity of the Year - Marie Curie.

The trail connects the Atlantic Ocean to the North Sea via the Caledonian Canal and open water sections including Loch Lochy, Loch Oich and Loch Ness.

The route is normally recommended to take up to 5 days.

Starting from Fort William, the aim is to complete the epic 60-mile challenge in an ambitious 3 days, arriving in Inverness on 10th May 2026. Each day will involve a gruelling 30km+ paddle against whatever the weather may bring and include portage of the kayaks around each of the 20+ canal lochs.

The team will take on the journey using solo sea kayaks, carrying supplies and emergency equipment and utilise a combination of strategically placed caravans, tents (backup) and a hostel to allow some rest enroute.

Everyone wishing to sponsor Dave, Jamie and Andy can donate using the company’s Marie Curie ‘Just Giving’ Link here. Please add the comment ‘Atlantic2NorthSea’ when donating.
