Another great year of summer shows
It’s been another very successful season at the agricultural shows for Scottish Woodlands Ltd - despite the extremes of the 2025 summer weather!
Staff attended a wide range of agricultural shows of different sizes and across many geographical locations, from the Black Isle Show in the North-East of Scotland to the Royal Welsh in mid-Wales.
The Royal Highland Show at Ingliston was a huge success, as people from the rural industries, and the general public, flocked to the showground in baking sunshine. The Forestry Arena, sponsored by Scottish Woodlands Ltd, was a busy focal point, with crowds flocking to watch pole climbing, axe throwing, chainsaw carving, motorcycle stunt displays and more.
Sadly, the weather cut short two shows, with the second day of both the Turriff Show in Aberdeenshire and the Moy Country Fair, near Inverness, cancelled due to very high winds.
David Robertson, Investment and Business Development Director for Scottish Woodlands Ltd, said: “It’s really sad when shows are cut short by the weather, because so much hard work and skill has gone into the planning - but safety has to be the number one priority.”
“Despite the weather-related challenges, the show season overall has been fantastic. We have met many clients and contacts, old and new, and had some great and wide-ranging conversations about forestry, and its place in rural communities.”
“Agricultural shows are the heartbeat of rural Scotland (and Wales in the case of the Royal Welsh) and Scottish Woodlands Ltd is proud to be a part of this very special community. The planning has already started for show season 2026 - bring it on!”
