Neil White shortlisted for top industry award

Neil White from Scottish Woodlands Ltd has been shortlisted in the leadership category in the UK’s premier forestry industry awards programme.

The Manager of the forestry team in the Perth office is in the final three for the Future Leader category, to be presented at the Confor Awards Dinner on February 28th.

The nomination for Neil praises his work in developing staff at Scottish Woodlands Ltd - and his commitment to enhancing his own skills.

It says: “Neil oversees the mentoring and training of colleagues on the Graduate Development Programme. He has always been keen to help develop junior staff and has proven himself a rounded, confident, and highly competent senior manager. Neil has undertaken significant training to hone his skills while still being heavily involved with some of the UK’s largest forests.”

The other two shortlisted nominees for the Future Leader category are Dr Kate Palmer of Pryor and Rickett Silviculture, and Miriam Jones-Walters of Natural Resources Wales.

Ralland Browne, Managing Director of Scottish Woodlands Ltd, said: “Everyone is delighted that Neil has been shortlisted and we wish him and his fellow finalists well.”

“Neil is an outstanding leader who has already had an excellent forestry career - but there is much more to come. As the nomination says, he puts a huge effort into his own professional development as well as offering excellent support to others, especially our younger members of staff.”

Scottish Woodlands Ltd is sponsor of the Changing Attitudes Award, which will also be presented at the dinner, at Surgeons Quarter in Edinburgh. [Click here to read about all the shortlists].
