Surveyor - Central & Fife

Background Information

Scottish Woodlands Utilities Division is an established contractor in the industry and our work comprises vegetation and fencing contracts and a wide variety of minor civils works.  Scottish Woodlands maintains the vegetation within proximity of the SPEN Overhead Powerline Network.

To expand our current team, we are looking to recruit an experienced Surveyor to join our existing SPEN vegetation management team to cover the Central and Fife area.

Purpose of the Job 

Home based and travelling to client locations, you will be responsible for directing, supervising and recruiting Direct Labour Operatives and Sub-contractor resource where necessary.  Carrying out live line and de-energised tree works, all in accordance with Scottish Woodlands Ltd and client standard operating procedures.  In addition, you will survey and provide consent for allocated work in line with the client specification. 

You will create work packs for Direct Labour Operatives and Sub-contractors who are under your direct control and line manage on a day-to-day basis including managing annual leave, sickness absence, appraisals, training and performance improvement. You will also be responsible for managing client data, reporting on progress to the senior management team and the client.

Essential Experience & Skills

To be successful in this role, you must be self-motivated, show initiative and be capable of working as part of our expanding professional team.  You will have worked as a Surveyor or Arborist previously and have demonstrable operational experience of managing a team. A qualification in Arboriculture is essential.

All applicants will be required to undergo an employment medical examination including a drugs and alcohol screening. It also essential that applicants hold a full driver’s licence.
