Scottish Woodlands Ltd is a major supplier of energy wood to the power generation market. We hold supply contracts with the main users and also have a shareholding in Northern Energy Developments Ltd - a progressive company which plans and implements development of new electricity and CHP (combined heat and power) plants - running exclusively on forest-derived biomass.
Our strategy is to evolve our expansion into this important new field so as to maximise the opportunities for our clients at the local, regional and national levels. As one example, we are currently trialling de-stumping as a mechanism to produce energy-wood and help the restocking of the successor forest.
We have expertise within the company on small-scale woodchip boilers, small scale and micro-hydro generation, windfarm development and contract negotiation. We can also partner with a range of consultants and specialists to help our clients get the best deal in the relevant sector of renewables which interests them.
