Forests cover
over 10% of the land area in Britain and over 15% in Scotland. The
total forest area is over 2.4 million hectares, of which 1.6 million
hectares are in private ownership. These private forests consist
of woodland on traditional estates, investment forests, farm woodlands
and native woodlands.
Scottish Woodlands
provides a wide range of services connected with all forms of woodlands,
trees and rural property. Scottish Woodlands manages over 170,000
hectares of woodland valued in excess of £500 million for
more than 1500 clients.
These include
individuals (both in the UK and overseas), farms and estates, private
sector companies, institutions, local authorities and other government
bodies. Scottish Woodlands' woodland establishment activities account
for a significant proportion of private planting, having created
over 60,000ha of new plantations in the last two decades.
Scottish Woodlands
has a skilled staff of professionally qualified managers with a
variety of specialisms and experience. Specialist contractors and
the Company's own operators enable it to undertake work programmes
of all sizes.
