FOREST CERTIFICATION AND CHAIN OF CUSTODY
The Company was the first in the UK to set up a group certification scheme which enables forest owners to be certified together under the umbrella of Scottish Woodlands' management systems.

The Company's certification scheme was the first to offer FSC timber to the market and is in a position to offer certified timber under the complimentary UKWAS and other European standards. The development of markets for certified wood products required a different approach to marketing. By working with sawmills, manufacturers and retailers, the company established new markets for British timber from clients' forests.

All FSC certified timber deliveries made by by Scottish Woodlands are covered by our chain-of-custody approval. This means timber moves from the forest to the processor down an independently audited supply chain so that end users can guarantee that the timber comes from a sustainably managed resource.
